September 17, 2019

Sac DSA's Socialist Education Committee is proud to present a Socialist Night School! This study series examines a wide range of topics with the goal of raising awareness around key socialist concepts.

The Socialist Night School is comprised of four distinct modules. Each module includes a lecture with ample time to discuss, dissect, and debate these topics in a facilitated group conversation. We welcome you to join us!

Race and Class Not Race VS. Class!

This course explores the relationship between race and class. Often thought of as separate from each other or more commonly in competition, the objective of this course is to review major socialist theories and organizing strategies in explaining and approaching the relationship between race and class. Key concepts will include primitive accumulation, colonization, slavery, commodification, Black Nation thesis, self-determination, and intersectionality.
