Sac DSA at Together We Rise March & Rally for Labor Day

Join the Sac DSA Contingent on this Labor Day March! We'll be carrying our banner and flags in solidarity with organized labor and in support of economic justice!

We will being supporting striking fastfood workers and then marching down West Capitol Ave. and into Crocker Park for speakers and festivities.

For too long Labor Day has been nothing more than the end of summer and a consumer holiday that ignores the day's socialist roots. In 1882, Matthew Maguire, a machinist for the Central Labor Union and later Vice-Presidential Nominee of the Socialist Labor Party of America, proposed the national holiday to celibrate workers.

It's time we brought the true meaning of Labor Day back and there's not better way to do it than hand in hand with our comrades in labor and their community allies.
