Socialist Feminist Reading Group

Last month we discussed the history of women in farmworker organizing such as Emma Tenayuca and Dolores Huerta. This month we are fast forwarding to today to discuss women fighting for dignity in our vast agricultural economy. This month we're discussing the following readings:

1 "Strawberries and Solidarity: Farmworkers Build Unity Around Driscoll’s Berries Boycott" https://truthout.org/articles/strawberries-and-solidarity-farmworkers-build-unity-around-driscoll-s-berries-boycott/

2 "Sexual Assault and Farmworkers" An interview with farmworkers' rights activisit Rosalinda Guillen https://www.npr.org/2017/11/05/562188700/sexual-assault-and-farmworkers

This an open event and all are welcome to join the discussion. We adhere to the DSA "Rules for Respectful Discussion" to ensure an inclusive conversation where all voices are heard. You can read more about these guidelines here: https://www.dsausa.org/respectful_discussion
